Chief Robert C. Lawson

CEO and Managing Partner

Chief Lawson began his law enforcement career in 1981 as a foot patrolman for the Lakewood Police Department and he continually rose through the ranks of the Department. Mr. Lawson was appointed Chief in 2006 and served in that position until his mandated retirement a decade later.

During Chief Lawson’s lengthy tenure, he helped reduce crime and increase quality of life in a uniquely diverse and fast growing municipality. Chief Lawson gained firsthand experience dealing with the full gamut of criminal and terrorist threats, including gang violence, hate crimes and domestic/international terrorism. Over the decades, he forged close working relationships with leading federal, state, county and local law enforcement officials, as well as community leaders of all ethnicities.  
Chief Lawson holds degrees from Columbia University, Rutgers University, Fairleigh Dickinson University and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA; as well as elite training credentials with the NJ Police Training Commission and Ocean County Police Academy. He is a member of the NJ Certified Public Manager’s Association; the Ocean County Chiefs of Police Association; the NJ State Association Chiefs of Police; the International Association of Chiefs of Police; the Lakewood Community Response Team; Lakewood Chaveirim; and serves on the Board of Directors of various community organizations.


Kevin Craig

Partner and Strategic Advisor

Kevin Craig has led a distinguished law enforcement career for decades, including a twenty-five year stint as Chief of the Jefferson Township Police Department, where he assisted in the development of the Department’s first School Resource Officer Program.

In recent years, as school shootings became increasingly rampant, Kevin has focused on the topic of school security and worked tirelessly to help secure students and faculty members across the country. He serves as Director of Safety and Security of High Point Regional High School in Sussex, as Founder and CEO of Shield32 Security Consulting/Porzio Compliance Service, a security consulting firm that advises many educational institutions.

Kevin currently serves as a senior instructor and advisory board member of the NJ Association of School Resource Officers; a peer reviewer for the US Department of Justice; a school safety specialist and instructor for the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning; among other security related positions.

Shawn Kavanagh

Shawn Kavanagh

Director of Security

Shawn Kavanagh has a breadth of law enforcement training and on-the-ground experience that few can match. Shawn’s expertise is compounded by his dynamic energy and vision, which he applies to each IronRock security detail in a hands-on manner.

From 1994 through 2019, Shawn served with distinction in the Jersey City Police Department, helping protect residents of NJ’s second most populous city and the throngs of professionals who commute to work there each day. Shawn continually rose through the ranks of the JCPD, from patrol officer to Detective, Sergeant and Lieutenant. During his tenure, Shawn gained invaluable experience in a cross section of law enforcement specialties, including homicide, robbery, kidnappings, gun violence, investigations, hiring, training, dispatch and supervisory duties.

Shawn has also undergone training by the NYPD, Israeli Special Forces, US Department of Homeland Security and other elite agencies in an array of specialized law enforcement and homeland security fields, including active shooter, intelligence and terrorism.

At IronRock Security, Shawn assumes an intimate role in the hiring, training and supervisory roles of armed guards. Shawn personally visits the sites of IronRock clients to ensure that every aspect of the premises and security detail is at its most optimal. “Having seen just about everything over the years, I take security very seriously,” says Shawn. “I am honored to have been given the opportunity to put my experience to work on behalf of IronRock’s clients.”   


Moshe Fromowitz

Director of Operations

A business owner and parent, Moshe is keenly aware of the contemporary security needs of businesses, communities and educational institutions.

Since the founding of IronRock Security, Moshe has dedicated himself lead the company from startup to premier security firm in the state. Moshe effectively manages both the general company operations and the micro details of IronRock clients in the Central/South Jersey region.

Moshe is well liked and respected by both IronRock’s security personnel and clients, and is always easily accessible for questions and feedback. With management skill and an unyielding attention to detail, Moshe promotes a pleasant work environment, professionalism, reliability, punctuality and flexibility.


Zumar Muhammad

Regional Supervisor

Before joining IronRock, Zumar Muhammad had over a decade of experience in the security industry- including the management of over 250 security guards in NJ and PA, many of whom later joined prestigious law enforcement agencies. Zumar has a unique understanding of the dynamics of effective security details, as well as an ability to relate well to both clients and employees on a personal level. At IronRock, Zumar successfully manages armed security details in the North Jersey region, providing invaluable peace of mind to clients and tenants.


Kristen Curnyn

Operations Manager/Student Travel Coordinator

Since the early 2000s, Krissy has worked on security coordination and student travel for various NJ firms. Her SORA and TWIC certification, coupled with superior communication and management skills, have enabled her to earn accolades from colleagues and clients. At IronRock, Krissy effectively manages unarmed security details in North Jersey as well as security for traveling students from across the state.
